Voyageurs Add to Defensive Depth

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. May 6, 2019 - Green Bay Voyageurs FC has announced the addition of Creighton defenseman Jake Ronneberg, as announced by the club on Monday. The Bluejay will add depth to the Voyageurs strong defensive unit.

Ronneberg comes to Green Bay following his freshman season in Omaha. The 5’11 Naperville, Ill native saw no action in his rookie campaign after piecing together an impressive prep career.  Ronneberg captained both Chicago Magic PSG, and Chicago Fire Academy. During his time with those clubs he impressed and was invited to train with the Fire’s First Team.

"I am looking forward to being a part of the inaugural season for Green Bay Voyageurs FC.” Said Ronneberg. “I am excited to be here for the beginning of the franchise and to get to work with my new coaches and teammates.”

Ronneberg and the Voyageurs open their inaugural season with a trip to Des Moines on May 11.The Voyageurs’ first home game, and first ever event at Capital Credit Union Park, is slated for Friday, May 31st at 7:00 against WSA Winnipeg. Season, group and single game tickets are on sale now. The team name, colors and crest are being developed with input from the public to build a team that truly represents the community. The team will play its home games at the new Capital Credit Union Park.
