Voyageurs Add League Veteran

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. May 10, 2019 - On the eve of its season opening match, Green Bay Voyageurs FC has announced the addition of forward Dani Morillo.

No stranger to the USL League Two stage, Morillo played the 2018 season with the Lakeland Tropics, where he tallied a goal in seven appearances. Morillo made his league debut following his collegiate career, making stops at the University of Dubuque and Florida Southern. 

In two seasons in Dubuque, Morillo Played in 18 games and started 13 as a sophomore, helping the Spartans to a 12-6-1 record and a runner-up finish in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC). Following the move to Florida, the 5’ 4” Colombian, netted four goals and two assists in 27 appearances with the Mocs. 

“It’s an honor to represent Green Bay Voyageurs FC in its inaugural season.” Said Morillo. “Having played my club and high school career in Wisconsin brings back great memories. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and getting to work!”

“Dani is a player that is very comfortable on the ball and we will look for his prior experience in League Two to guide the team.” Noted Head Coach Brian Kamler.

The Voyageurs open their inaugural season with a trip to Des Moines on tomorrow (May 11).The Voyageurs’ first home game, and first ever event at Capital Credit Union Park, is slated for Friday, May 31st at 7:00 against WSA Winnipeg. Season, group and single game tickets are on sale now. The team name, colors and crest are being developed with input from the public to build a team that truly represents the community. The team will play its home games at the new Capital Credit Union Park.
